I really do hope Barcelona new boss Ernesto Valverde would not consider signing Christian Eriksen this summer.

Barcelona former manager Luis Enrique has decided to hand over reins of the club over to someone else at the end of the season. Now, the Catalan giants have appointed a new manager Ernesto Valverde, the former Athletico Bilbao coach as their new head coach. The 53-year-old Spanish manager has his own set of transfer plans and Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen is reportedly in the limelight.

Speaking to Danish media outlet Ekstra Bladet recently, the Spurs man revealed he cannot say no to an interest from the Spanish giants. These utterance have raised series of reports that Barca are ready to make a move for him this summer.

Barca are not on the rush to drop any of Luis Suarez, Luis Suarez or Neymar to the bench in the upcoming season and this will mean that they will have be spend on the Denmark star as a backup for the front line.

As hard as it is for the La Liga outfits to striker a deal with Daniel Levy, they will also have to give the Dane enough time to get use with the club, in a season where they need their backup players to be at the top of their game every time they are called upon.

Ernesto Valverde

Eriksen has been superb in front of goal in the last two seasons, he scored 12 goals and created 23 assists in all competition last season. The 25-year-old star is an attacking player who loves to spend time in the final third and Barca might not be on the hunt for such player as there won’t be getting any good performance out of him if they decide to use him as a part of the midfield three.

It will boost their creativity but will surely reduce their ability to act as the first line of defense. To get him playing regularly, the former Athletico man might have to shift his system, which honestly is not the best way to go at Camp Nou.

His price another issue for Barca but will surely reduce their ability to act as the first line of defense. To get Eriksen, Valverde might have to shift his system, which sincerely is not the best way to go at Camp Nou.

Barcelona need a genuine player who can walk into the first team next season and keep their the line intact. Barca surely need additions if they are to claim their lost La Liga glory from Real Madrid next season but Christian Erkisen is definitely not an option.
