Celtic fans on Twitter haven’t been impressed with Cristian Gamboa after the Costa Rican made a poor start against St Johnstone, in a match which ended goalless.
Gamboa was amongst seven changes Brendan Rodgers made to the team which played against Russian side Zenit St Petersburg on Thursday, and with the second leg on Thursday in mind.
Gamboa, 28, was making his first start for the club since October and fans weren’t pleased with his performance, with one tearing into the former West Bromwich Albion, by saying he has “no future” at the Parkhead.
As for the match against Johnstone itself, the first-half produced few chances for the Bhoys, Ajer having a header saved by Mannus, whilst Wotherspoon missed a great chance for the Saints putting a free header over the bar.
The only other chance of the first-half was a free-kick from Edouard which curled past the post, as the half ended goalless.
He missed a good chance early in the second-half, getting the ball stuck under his feet and his shot ended up being saved, whilst Williams put a shot past the post for the Saints.
James Forrest came on for Rogic, but Celtic found chances hard to create in the game. Moussa Dembele then replaced Edouard, as the Bhoys went for broke to get the win.
However, few clear cut chances were created and the fixtures ended goalless. Here are some of the best reactions to Gamboa’s performance against the Perth side.

Gamboa is faster but in all other aspects Lustig, even carrying an injury, is way better imho. But the rest will do some of our first teasers a bit of good.

Hope Gamboa buts in a good show. Is last to outings he did well. Better attacking than defending.
