Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers could look to rest some certain players of his first-team stars on Sunday afternoon as the Hoops take on St. Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership at Paradise.
The Bhoys are back in action just three days after producing a huge effort to beat Russian side Zenit St Petersburg on Thursday night in their Europa League Round of 32 clash, with Callum McGregor netting the only goal of the game.
The Hoops face Roberto Mancini’s side for a return leg on Thursday night next week in Russia, and Rodgers will need his players at peak fitness if they are to secure a passage in the Round of 16.
However, the Northern Irishman might not be able to make huge changes to his side as a long list of players remain on the sidelines through injury.
Celtic have goalkeeper Craig Gordon, defender Marvin Compper, Dedryck Boyata and Anthony Ralston, midfielders Stuart Armstrong, Patrick Roberts and Jonny Hayes and striker Leigh Griffits are all out of the team injured.
It should see the ex-Liverpool and Swansea boss make just three changes to the side that beat Zenit, with Charly Musonda, Odsonne Edouard and Scott Sinclair coming into the side.
That will see star striker Moussa Dembele, Frenchman Olivier Ntcham and in-form 24-year-old McGregor all drop to the bench.
