Glasgow Celtic suffered just their second defeat of the campaign on Saturday when they were beaten 1-0 by Kilmarnock, reducing their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership table to eight points.

Olivier Ntcham was not impressive for Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic side that lost against Kilmarnock on Saturday.

Few fans would argue that Ntcham hasn’t been arguably the club’s best player in recent weeks.

The French midfielder has received poor reviews for his performances as of late, but his performance on Saturday which saw Celtic lost 1-0 to Kilmarnock was just a salt spilled on his wound.

Ntcham had many chances but never made use of them in an attacking sense, which has not been the player that the club have praised since the turn of the year.

There were plenty of other poor players for the club shock defeat at Killie, but fans has singled out Ntcham that the ex-Manchester City ace – a £4.5 million summer signing for the club – didn’t do enough. Consistent has been his major blow in his first season in Scotland.

He has had brilliant times in the past for the club but failed to make use of them, and Celtic fans will be hoping that their side defeat to Kilmarnock isn’t a sign of the same the Frenchman had suffered with the club before this season.

Ntcham, 21, is obviously a big player and there’s plenty of class there, but Rodgers’ task is to get the best of the 21-year-old every single week. A series of shrewd performances and one bad one isn’t what the club want.
