Celtic suffered their second defeat of the Scottish Premiership campaign on Saturday under Brendan Rodgers, losing 1-0 to Steve Clarke’s Kilmarnock side – and Rangers fans on Twitter were absolutely loving how the reigning Scottish champions drop points.
Killie’s Youssouf Mulumbu’s second-half strike secured a surprise 1-0 win for the Rugby Park side as Rodgers’ men threw away what could prove to be a vital three points.
These results now gives Rangers a chance to close the gap at the top of the table to 8 points by Tuesday night at they face Hibernian and Partick Thistle in their two outstanding fixtures.
Rangers were loving rubbing salt in the wounds of Celtic after only their second league defeat this season.
This defeat is only the second in the Scottish Premiership for Celtic since Rodgers taking over in the summer of 2016 but could open up the title race after looking a foregone conclusion.
Celtic were mauled 4-0 by Hearts last month to bring their long domestic unbeaten run to an end but a second defeat following so quickly afrer could have their keen rivals questioning their winning mentality.
Rangers are currently fourteen points behind their bitter rivals but will be desperate to get within touching distance of the champions as the Scottish Premiership gets towards the crucial point of the season.
