Despite Premier League side AFC Bournemouth keeping close tab on Celtic target Jack Handry lately, the Scottish champions are reportedly the firm favourites to compete a move for.
According to a news from the Dundee Evening Telegraph, the Hoops remain the favourites to land The Tangerines defender despite the Premier League side joining the race and watching him regularly in recent weeks.
Hendry is arguably one of the most brilliant and sought-after players in the Scottish Premiership right now having enjoyed a stellar season with Neil McCann’s side.
The report from the British tabloid reports that Celtic were interested in signing him to Parkhead as Brendan Rodgers looks to strengthen his defensive options during the January transfer window, especially after Erik Sviatchenko leave the club on loan to FC Midtjylland.
However, Celtic may have feared what the chances of completing a deal would have been with the reports claiming the Cherries and Crystal Palace are both interested in the centre-back.
Bournemouth appear to be very interested in signing the defender, with same report suggesting that Eddie Howe has had him scouted on different occasions.
But the Evening Telegraph suggests that the Bhoys remain the favourites to sign him this month, but they may have to offer in excess of £1.5 million to make it happen.
It would undoubtedly prove to be a coup for the Hoops if they did manage to win the race given how interested the Premier League sides appear to be right now.
