With Celtic fans challenging all of their rivals hopes on their upcoming crunch tie against Zenit in the Europa League next month, there’s a real hope that decision makers continue to back Brendan Rodgers in the transfer market.
Indeed, while Celtic are very proud of their record since the Northern Irish manager took over, few would doubt the importance of a run in Europe and what a difference that could make for the profile of their club right now. So, Rodgers needs some help when it comes to rebuilding and strengthening his squad.
However, if reports from the Daily Star are anything to go by, Premier Leagues side AFC Bournemouth are ready to hijack Celtic’s move for Dundee defender, Jack Hendry. The Dens Park star is believed to have been linked with a move to the Scottish champions, though a reported £1.5m asking price is believed to be holding up a move.
Not for the Premier League outfit though. The report from the British source suggest the Cherries are willing to table an ‘official bid’ of £1m for Hendry this week, complicating matters for the Celtic fans propping up our bar.
It’ll be very difficult to see the Bhoys entering a bidding war with a Premier League club. Unfortunately for the Premier League team, even the Scottish giants would find it hard to fend-off interest from those south of the border, which must be pretty frustrating for Rodgers.
