Tottenham fans were happy with the performance of summer signing Serge Aurier after his superb performance against Liverpool at the Wembley Stadium.
The former Paris Saint-Germain star played as left wing-back in place of Ben Davies and Danny Rose, who were both on the bench.
And, despite Aurier playing out of position, the Ivory Coast international showed a brilliant shift going forwards and in defence as Spurs smashed Liverpool 4-1 at Wembley.
Today’s match is a result that should finally put the talk of a Wembley woe to rest as the north London club mauled Jurgen Klopp‘s men.
Aurier made the headlines before his summer switch to Tottenham even went through after Visa problems relating to an assault charge threatened to derail his move.
When he finally arrived the club, he was criticized for being reckless after got sent off in the Premier League game against West Ham United.
However, Aurier looks to have put the criticisms behind him with an assured performance today and Tottenham faithfuls were quick to congratulate the Ivorian.
Among those who congratulated him even asked when he had turned into Cristiano Ronaldo. Football Weeks has rounded up some of the best tweets from Spurs fans.
