Cheikhou Kouyate got his first start of the season for the Hammers against the Terriers as Bilic made five changes to his side, including the return of fan favourite Andy Carroll.

His side dominated much of the game, but failed to make their chances count until the half-time.

The Senegalese was guilty of being wasteful in front of goal and on one instance completely scuffed an effort in the penalty area after Carroll knockdown.

The midfielder will hope to retain his place in the starting XI for the Hammer upcoming match against West Bromwich Albion, despite much criticism from fans over his technical ability.

Cheikhou Kouyate was used as emergency defender for much of last season, but has moved back to his more accustomed defensive midfield role this year.
