Tottenham Hotspur are currently one of the strongest contenders for the Premier League title and they pose the biggest threat to league leaders Chelsea this season. Mauricio Pochettino will no doubt be happy with his team’s strength and consistency in recent past but he would be making new additions to the squad to give them a shot at the Champions medal next season. The players have been linked with a number of players in Europe but there are some players in Italy with the potential of becoming a hit in England. The manager will surely be given a free rein in the summer and he will want to sign the best of the best. So here are two Serie A players Pochettino should put on his list for summer.

Suso (AC Milan)

Jesús Joaquín Fernández Sáenz de la Torre

The former Liverpool player is gradually becoming one of the most amazing talent in Italy, at San Siro. After coming off from a loan spell at Genoa, he has been a part of the AC Milan first team this season. In his 27 appearances in Serie A this season, he has managed to pick up 6 goals and set up 7 more and he is rapidly growing into himself. He has till 2019 before his contract expires and will come at a price lower than Pochettino is used to. Signing a capable winger will be a priority for the Argentine tactician as the likes Moussa Sissoko and Kevin N’Koudou have severely under-performed this season. Suso, having had first-hand experience of England football, could be the right player to fill the position perfectly.

Mario Mandzukic (Juventus)

Mario Mandzukic

The Croatian international’s contract with the Italian Champions is valid till 2019 but at 30, Juventus could release him in the summer. Playing for Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich has given him the much needed experience of playing in the top tier. In 27 Serie A appearances, he has notched up 7 goals and 5 assists. Still in good form, he is not close to the end of his career and would be a good substitute for Harry Kane at White Hart Lane. With Vincent Janssen’s skill ebbing, Pochettino would do well to procure a another striker this summer and there are limited options for the position and Pochettino had better take advantage of Mandzukic availability in the transfer market.
