The English Premier League is heating up and clubs can’t afford to let off their guards at this crucial stage of the season.

Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham are in the race for the League title, while, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are all competing for a top-four finish.

Looking at the other side of the League standings, at least six clubs — including Huddersfield, Cardiff, Fulham, Southampton, Newcastle United, and Burnley — are in the danger of being relegated at the end of the season.

Many matches were played across England on Saturday and we’ve come up with some interesting talking points from the matches….

Gonzalo Higuain showed class against Huddersfield Town

The Argentine joined the Blues in January and much is expected from him. He failed to live up to his billing in his first Premier League appearance in Wednesday’s 4-0 defeat to Bournemouth at the Vitality stadium.

His display against the relegation-threatened on Saturday side was encouraging as he scored a brace to help the Blues record a massive 5-0 victory.

He was behind every attacking moves made by the home side and Sarri will be hoping his new recruit maintain such tempo when they travel to Etihad to battle Manchester City next week.

No Kane, No problem for Tottenham Hotspur

Mauricio Pochetino was without influential striker Harry Kane prior to the game but his men were able to pick all-important three points against Newcastle in the first game of the day.

The Lilywhites were unconvincing but South Korean star striker Heung-min Son was up to the task as his late goal was enough for the home side to defeat struggling Rafa Benitez’s men.

Cardiff City pay tribute to missing Sala and his pilot David Ibbotson

Cardiff City defeated Bournemouth 2-0 to boost their chances of staying in the Premier League beyond this season, thanks to Bobby Reid’s brace.

However, the stadium was full of papers and posters carrying Emiliano Sala’s picture as the Bluebirds paid emotional tribute to the missing Argentine striker.

Sala completed a £15m switch to the Premier League outfits from Ligue 1 side Nantes during the winter window but he never played a single game for the team.

This is because the plane bringing him to Cardiff went missing and wasn’t seen until now. It’s believed that the Argentine player and the pilot David Ibbotson involved in a crash and are dead.

Huddersfield Town are closer to being relegated

Huddersfield Town

With Saturday’s defeat to Chelsea, Huddersfield have just 11 points from 25 matches and they occupy the 20th position in the League standings.

They will need a quick and massive turnaround to avoid being relegated to the Championship next season.
