According to The S*n, Manchester City could agree a part-exchange deal including Oleksandr Zinchenko with Napoli for midfielder Jorginho this summer. The 26-year-old is on Pep Guardiola’s radar, among many other clubs’, but his reported £52m asking price might be too steep for the Sky Blues.

Jorginho joined Napoli from Hellas Verona in 2014 and has gone on to make 160 appearances in all competitions. The Brazilian-born Italian international has been an ever-present for Maurizio Sarri’s side, featuring in 39 games across the board as Napoli finished second in Serie A with 91 points.

As City are unwilling to pay £52m for his signature, they could offer a player as a makeweight in the deal. Zinchenko joined the Sky Blues from Russian side Ufa in 2016 and has made 14 appearances since. The 21-year-old may struggle for opportunities next season as Benjamin Mendy and Fabian Delph will likely battle for the left-back spot, so a move from the Etihad could be on the cards.

Napoli tried to sign the Ukrainian international last summer, so they may well land their man 12 months on if they allow Jorginho to move in the opposite direction. City need midfielders for next season, as Yaya Toure has now left the club, so they’re lacking depth in the engine room.
