Celtic midfielder Scott Brown was named Hoops’ Player of the Year, while defender Kieran Tierney was named Young Player of the Year at the club’s annual awards ceremony.
Manager Brendan Rodgers said he felt Brown deserved recognition for his efforts this season, having been an ever-present and commanding presence in the midfield, and it appears his efforts have been recognised by the supporters, landing the Special Recognition Award, Players’ Player of the Year and Player of the Year.

The 32-year-old has made 51 appearances in all competitions this season. Brown skippered Celtic as they beat Motherwell in the Scottish League Cup final in November, beat Rangers in the Scottish Cup semi-final on April 15 and has played 29 of 34 league games as Celtic sit 10 points clear at the summit.
Tierney has been another standout performer and picked up the Young Player of the Year award after making 50 appearances in all competition as a 20-year-old. His fantastic Celtic form has led to links with Manchester United, but the Scottish international is focused on developing at Parkhead.

Celtic look on course to seal back-to-back trebles under Rodgers this season and it’s no small thanks to Brown and Tierney for playing nearly every game in every competition without their form ever wavering.
