According to reports, Chris Davies has back Brendan Rodgers for a planned third Jack Hendry bid as the Northern Irishman is determined to ensure Celtic don’t miss out on the signing of Dundee defender Jack Hendry with Premier League trio vying for his signature.

Dundee’s £1.5 million asking price is merely pocket fee to most club these days and most especially Premier League teams.

But it’s a reflection of the financial disparity between Scotland and England that the Scottish champions are refusing to pay the huge fee most Championship side would be able to sanction.

According to Sunday Post, Celtic have made two bids for Dundee centre-back Jack Hendry – but are unwilling to meet the club’s £1.5 million price-tag required the take the 22-year-old from Dens Park.

But if Celtic stand firm in their refusal now, they could miss out on the classy defender for good.

As reported by TEAMtalk, there are a whole hosts of clubs, home and abroad interested in his services, Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Burnley, and they will have little difficulty meeting Dundee’s demands.

Rodgers, who described Hendry as ‘outstanding’ when Celtic beat Dundee 1-0 back in October, believes the youngster has the potential to be a future star.

Reports garnered from the Daily Record reveals Celtic offered Dundee a mouth-watering £800,000k for Hendry last time out and would be looking to almost double that bid to convince the Dee to selling their prized-asset.
