Glasgow Rangers have signed some good players to Ibrox, but proposed Celtic new signing Neven Subotic would eclipse their business.
We’re now exactly three weeks into the January transfer window and even the Hoops fans wouldn’t deny that Rangers have done some pretty good home-works.
Well, they might, but the truth is that their boss Graeme Murty has pulled off some very decent coups and the Gers should be a much better side as a result.
Sean Goss, Jason Cummings, Russell Martin and Jamie Murphy have all joined Rangers on short-term loan deals, which could be become permanent in the summer depending on their performances and it’s clear that they have been a bit more busy than Celtic this month.
Rangers are linked with other players, but even if they sign them, they couldn’t possibly get a better deal if Celtic wind up getting Neven Subotic for £3 million.
According to German news publication Fussballeck, Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is interested in signing the Borussia Dortmund centre-back who, if he joins, would eclipse anything that Rangers have done or will do before the window shuts.
Subotic is available for around £3 million according to Transfermarkt, and if the Bhoys get him then it’d be a reminder as to how big the gap is between both Old Firm sides in terms of profile.
Subotic is on the fringes of things with the Bundesliga giants, but he has been a brilliant defender in the Bundesliga down the years and played a big role in helping the German giants reach the Champions League final in 2013, starting 11 games.
Rangers are linked with other players, but even if they sign those linked with the club, Sveco couldn’t possibly get a better deal if Celtic wind up getting Neven Subotic for £3 million.
