Liverpool striker Danny Ings is looking to secure a loan move away from the club with Newcastle United, West Bromwich Albion, and Crystal Palace showing interest in the Englishman.
According to The Nothern Echo, Newcastle’s takeover by PCP Capital Partners appear unlikely to be taken over before January, leaving the Magpies boss Rafael Benitez no alternative but to sign cheaper targets for the club.
At the moment, the Spanish boss is thought to be interested in securing a loan deal for the former Burnley striker Ings who has been deemed surplus to requirements at the Anfield following the superb form Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mané are enjoying under the guidance of Jurgen Klopp, making them one of the fiercest trios the club ever had.
Signing Danny Ings will be a win-win situation for both the club and the player; he will be guaranteed first-team football and the club would’ve snatched one of its important targets among Benitez’s long list. Moreover, the club’s strikers Joselu, Dwight Gayle, and Aleksander Mitrovic have been misfiring so far this season adding more reason to the necessity of buying new players.
However, the St. James Park’s outfit face tough competition for the signing of Ings from ex-manager and current West Brom’s coach Alan Pardew, who told the club’s officials that he would be interested to sign the 25-year-old for the Eagles. Pardew – who was sacked as Crystal Palace boss in December, 2016 – has been a long term admirer of Ings and tried snapping him up in 2014 but without success; meaning that his intent will be stronger than ever in battling it out with Newcastle for Ings.
After suffering two excruciating knee injuries since moving to Anfield, Ings will be pushing Liverpool to allow his loan move in the aim of returning to competitive first-team football and be called back by Klopp if things went really well outside Liverpool. The England international has only played once for the Reds this season in a League Cup defeat to Leicester City, and has registered a shy figure of twelve appearances since joining the club in 2015.
More important items occupy Klopp’s agenda right now, with Liverpool up against Everton on Sunday in the much anticipated Merseyside derby; the German boss is hoping to build on his team’s recent 7-0 victory against Spartak Moscow in the Champions League. Liverpool finished top of their group and now progress to the knock out stages of the group competition. The future seems bright for Liverpool’s attack, a bit of defensive fine-tuning and we are in for a thrilling comeback from the Merseyside Reds.
