Olivier Giroud could miss the North London derby next weekend – and Twitter has delivered mixed verdicts on the French striker’s potential absence.
Sky Sports were among the media outlet who reported on Sunday that the Arsenal striker has been released from the France squad and will return to Arsenal after sustaining a thigh strain in France’s 2-0 win over Wales on Friday night.
Arsenal medical staff will run tests to find out the severity of his injury but the 31-year-old’s injury is a huge doubt for the home clash against Tottenham on Saturday.

Giroud was spotted with heavy bandaging wrapped around his thigh and also applying an icepack to his leg after he was substituted two minutes after scoring the second of France’s goals against Wales.
He has lost his regular starting spot to Arsenal summer Alaxandre Lacazette but the Frenchman remains a key figure for the Gunners as well as France squad.
Giroud standing 6ft and 3in spearheaded a brilliant France attack that also include Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann on Friday night and has appeared in 10 of Arsenal’s 11 Premier League matches this season.

Both the North London fans took to Twitter to react the possible absence at Emirates Stadium of the front man, who has a brilliant record of 101 goals in 244 games for Arsenal.
Some insisted that the Frenchman is only a back-up these days, while others claim Giroud will be sorely missed by Arsenal.
