According to reports, Real Madrid will not be making move for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane this January, but will attempt to bring the England international to the Santiago Bernabéu next summer.

Following the departures of both Alvaro Morata and Mariano Diaz this summer, the European champions’ boss Zinedine Zidane decided against signing another striker, having with him Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Borja Mayoral as his attacking alternatives.

The La Liga giants haven’t really been in top form this season – finding themselves in third place behind Barcelona and Valencia – with their recent struggles in front of goal making the possibility of signing a new striker in January a hot pursuit.

However, according to Spanish publication Marca, the club hierarchies have ruled out a move for a new striker in January, with Harry Kane supposedly not in their options for now.

They were able to see the Tottenham’s man in action during the Spurs’ 1-1 draw with Real last week, but were not moved by his performance, despite continuing to show interest in him.

According to reports from The Sun, the British tabloid claims Kane is Real’s number one target, and they are convinced they will be able to sign their target this summer.

Tottenham are determined to keep Kane, with a fee close to Neymar’s world record move to PSG the only figure which could possibly interest the north London club into selling their prized asset.

The 24-year-old on several occasions has committed the rest of his career to Tottenham, but during the last international break, the England captain was quoted as saying “never say never” at the prospect of playing abroad someday.

Tottenham are all too familiar with the reigning La Liga champions after selling talismans for £30m in 2012 and £86m in 2013 respectively, but will be determined to not to make Kane the third player that will be sold to Real Madrid.

Kane will be action this Saturday for Tottenham as they prepare to take on fellow top four rivals Manchester United at Wembley Stadium
