Liverpool is set to start Jordan Henderson as they travel to Wembley to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The midfielder was rested in the Reds 7-0 Champions League victory over Maribor but will return against the Spurs, meaning that James Milner could well be rested despite the 31-year-old impressive midweek performance.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, has never won a competitive match at England’s national stadium, but the former Borussia Dortmund manager insists that he is not thinking about his record ahead of the clash, according to Sky Sports.

Klopp said: “We don’t feel bad when we see Wembley, it’s a good place and a wonderful stadium,”

“And we never played against Tottenham there, so it’s nothing we are thinking about. We only think about the game and not where we play.

“I can say that the performance was always really good. In the Champions League final [with Borussia Dortmund against Bayern Munich] the performance was really good, everybody who saw it knows that. The Capital One Cup final against City was unlucky in the penalty shootout at the end, that’s how things can happen.”

For Mauricio Pochettino’s side, the Argentine boss will be looking to build on his team first Premier League win at their temporary home after beating Bournemouth 1-0 last weekend and Tottenham will be boosted by the midweek return of England international Danny Rose.

Rose has been ruled out for nine months with a knee injury but came off the bench for Spurs towards the end of the game against reigning Spanish champions Real Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday. Although, the 27-year-old is unlikely to start at Wembley, Rose could be named among Pochettino’s substitutes and the Argentine boss insists the midfielder is part of his long term plans.

“His mind is clear that what happened is in the past and we need to move on. He is part of my plans. The past is in the past,” the manager said.

“In life they are young and they can mistakes but the most important thing is that they can learn from that. Fans want the best for the team and Danny is our player. Our fans are fantastic and they show good love and that they care for our players.”

Team news

Elsewhere for Liverpool, Simon Mignolet should replace between the sticks and Joe Gomez could come into defence as Klopp continues to rotate his young full-backs.

Per the provided Sky Sports link, Ben Davies has recovered from illnesss and Dele Alli is back after the youngster served a Champions League suspension for Tottenham.

However, Spurs will be without the service of Moussa Dembele and Victor Wanyama as they both nurse hip and knee injuries respectively. The clash with Liverpool will proved too soon for Erik Lamela, who is close to overcoming an injury to his hips.
