The north London club have completed the signing of 19-year-old Juan Foyth up to a five-year contract, which means he is set to stay up until 2022.

Spurs made the confirmation on their official website on Wednesday afternoon that they have managed to complete a deal for the centre-back from Argentinian side Estudiantes.

Spurs have been after Foyth during much of the summer and have finally managed to sign him on the penultimate day of the transfer window.

The ball-playing defender is fairly unknown talent to English clubs, but the teenager has got his move to the Premier League.

Foyth has become the third signing of the window for the north London club following in the footsteps of goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga and defender Davinson Sanchez.

Spurs have finally got deal over the line for Foyth and there is every chance he could grow into a first-team star in the future. Tottenham’s manager Mauricio Pochettino is known to be a fan of his Argentinian compatriot and will be thrilled to bring him to North London. He is believed to have similar traits to current Spurs ace Toby Alderweireld, who is regarded as one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League.

Juan Foyth was a regular for Argentina’s Under 20s side in the summer for the World Cup and is being tipped for a big future. Pochettino is the perfect manager to harness his potential and has shown he is not afraid to give youngsters senior opportunities. Foyth may have to be patient to begin with though obtaining a starting XI berth, with the likes of Alderweireld, Sanchez, Jan Vertonghen and Eric Dier also competing for a spot.
