Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribéry could be saying his goodbyes at Allianz Arena this summer after 10 long years at the club – possibly moving back to his native France this summer.
According to Le10Sport, despite the German giants close rapport with the ageing star, they are open to Ribery’s desire to leave for France. However, he was given a condition: They will only agree to a move if they can lure Arsenal’s explosive striker Alexis Sanchez to the club as a replacement for him.
Ribery has been at the German club for the past decade and has won the heart of many fans and supporters. He is also held in high regard by key people within the club, despite turning 34 years of age last month.
Despite suffering some injuries during his time at the club, he has managed to net 110 goals in 352 appearances. He has appeared in 21 games this season in the Bundesliga, picking up four goals and assisting another 11.
Marseille are reportedly eager to sign Ribery and partner him with their newly acquired player Dimitri Payet. Ribery’s destination will be decided by the Bundesliga Champions’ attempt to make a swoop for Alexis Sanchez. The Chilean international has been in excellent form for the Gunners this season, racking up 28 goals in 49 appearances.
However, Chelsea has been heavily linked with a move away from the club, with the likes of PSG, Chelsea and Manchester United topping the list of clubs hoping to take him off the market.
Sanchez’s contract at the Emirates is valid for another year but he is yet to put pen to paper for the gunners, giving room for Bayern to snatch him up should he decide to end his stay at the Emirates.
