Barcelona have two more fixtures before the La Liga season comes to an end and Luis Enrique’s side remain s in competition for their third consecutive title.

The Blaugrana are at the top of the points table thanks to their incredible form against rivals Real Madrid, although Los Blancos still have one more game to go and are therefore favorites to claim the title.

Players like Gerard Pique, Sergio Busquets, Samuel Umtiti, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Ivan Rakitic, Sergi Roberto and Rafinha have all been instrumental in Barca’s success this term, but here we run through the top three players who have put up the most outstanding display for the Catalans this season in descending order:

3. NEYMAR

Neymar Jr.

Neymar has been at the mercy of many this season, often criticised for his relative lack of goals, but this season has no doubt been the best of the Brazilian since he moved to the Camp Nou from Santos in the summer of 2013.

Although he has been less productive than some Barca players with just 10 goals to boast of in the La Liga, the 25-year old has been amazing in providing assists for his teammates and has racked up 10 assists in the Primera Division this term.

Recently banned for three games after he got a red card and for participating in a protest against the lost game at Malaga, The Brazilian led Barca to a 4-1 triumph over Villareal on Saturday and helped to win a panenka  with a run into the box in the wee hours of the game.

  1. LUIS SUAREZ
Luis Suarez

Luis Suarez’s performance this season may not measure up to that of last season, but the Uruguay forward more than his share of quota in Barcelona’s goals this season.

After picking up 40 league goals last season, the former Liverpool striker has scored 27 goals in his 33 appearances in the La Liga this term and many of those goals have been determinant in the success of the Catalan club.

Suarez scored a home and away brace against Espanyol, as well as key goals against Valencia, Villarreal and Sevilla, while he is the only player from both side to find the net in both Clasico games this season. He has also racked up 12 assists in La Liga this term.

1. LIONEL MESSI

Lionel Messi is the best player at the Nou Camp and this season is no exception as the Blaugrana are highly dependent on the Argentine attacker for goals, especially in the Primera Division, and helps to raise the spirit of the team.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has netted 35 in the Primera Division and is set to claim his fourth European Golden Shoe, while he can also lay claim nine assists in La Liga this term.

His exceptional display at the Santiago Bernabeu last month, when he hit two goals including a last-gasp winner to defeat Real Madrid, is an historical moment, but that is not the only one, including a similar display in a 3-2 victory at Valencia and doubles against Celta Vigo, Real Sociedad, Sevilla, Valencia at home and Villarreal during the weekend.
