The Gunners have a decent squad at their disposal but have not found balance in recent seasons and have struggled to compete for the EPL title, despite picking up crucial points against big sides.

Arsenal are not in rush of losing some of their brilliant talents but they’ve made some insane buys in recent times. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is one to spend massively in the transfer market but the Frenchman has bought in some class player to help his side over the years. These are the two of the best such signings Wenger has made in recent times:

Mesut Ozil:

Mesut Ozil

The German World-Cup player was in superb form at the Bernabeu under Jose Mourinho when Arsene Wenger went calling. The Gunners spent  £42.5m in securing his services, the most the North London club have ever spent in their history on a player. Ozil moved to the Emirates in 2013 and has been the German playmaker in the heart of midfield has been the Gunners impressive performance in the attack ever since. However, not 100% consistent but has provided the club with some of their best moments in recent times.

This season has 11 goals and 11 assists to his name and his tally to 21 goals in 107 appearances for the Gunners in the league. The former Real Madrid man is one of the most important players for the club at the moment and though being linked with an exit from the club, he is still a crucial cog in the Gunners plans for the next season.

Alexis Sanchez:

Arsenal striker Alexis Sanchez

The former Barcelona man remains Arsenal best player for this season. Having joined Arsenal in 2014 for £35m, he has been one of the best forward in England in this time. Sanchez has helped the club to their only trophy in recent times and the Chilean is one of the first names on the team sheet for Arsene Wenger this season.

Sanchez has 24 goals and 18 assists across all competition, making him one of the most effective players in Europe and the fact that Wenger is desperate for him to sign a new deal is a sign of how he has impacted the club in these three years. He is unsettled at the moment and is looking for an exit and if Arsenal lose him, it could be an irreplaceable blow for them.

The likes of Shkodran Mustafi, Mohamed Elneny and Alex Iwobi also deserve special mentions.
