Reports by The Sun have made it known that Maximiliano Allegri has agreed to an extension with Juventus that will leave him in charge till 2020 with the options of a further 12 months.

The agreement came about after the Old Lady raced Barcelona out of the Champions League at the quarter-final stage, and will official make a public statement regarding it after the semi-final with Monaco.

The 49-year-old, who has also been linked with a move to Barcelona, has done well for his side since he signed as the coach in 2014, but there have been speculations that he is leaving the club at the end of the season after media spats and reports of rifts between him and some players in the dressing room.

He has led the team to win six out of a possible seven domestic silverware since then, and he surprisingly reached the Champions League in his debut season at the club.

The news will not be a pleasant to many Arsenal fans who are calling out for manager Arsene Wenger’s resignation and looking up to the Italian as possible replacement for the Frenchman. This season at the Emirates has been an arduous one for Wenger, and his relation with the club supporters has deteriorated.

The fans’ displeasure for Wenger’s managerial ways led them to hire a banner plane for an away match against West Brom recently that was designed with the inscription ‘Wenger Out’- some minutes later, a contradicting plane was flown in support of the manager, showing the division among the Gunners fans.

In recent weeks however, Wenger altered his side’s formation and reached an FA Cup final and it looks like he will be signing a new deal at the Emirates – which put an end to the fans dream of seeing Allegri take over the reins of the club.
