Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho will have a busy summer as he is set for a major overhauling of the squad. He is looking to make some new addition to the team to enhance their play next season and he will be replacing some players in the current squad. One such player who is on Mourinho’s wish list is SL Benefica star Anderson Talisca.

Talisca, currently out on loan with Besiktas, is putting on a good show at the Vodafone Arena picking up 13 goals and 6 assists in 28 appearances across all competitions this season. However, Manchester United seems ready to terminate his two year loan with the club and are ready to take him on for his £21m worth this summer. According to reports, United will try to convince Talisca to move out of Turkey and they are ready to let go of Spanish playmaker Juan Mata to enable him  fit in with the squad. But is selling Mata a necessity and will Talisca be able to fulfill the 28-year-old’s role at Old Trafford?

The former Chelsea attacker was sold out of Stamford Bridge by Jose Mourinho during his days with the Blues and though Mata has been a big part of the United’s success this season, Mourinho once again thinks he can do without him. Mata is the second highest goal scorer for United this season and has been amazing in every opportunity he gets on the pitch but he picked up an injury recently which ruled him out for the rest of the season. With this, it comes as no shock that Mourinho is scouting for a replacement.

At 28, Mata still has loads to offer, but Mourinho is not granting him the first team opportunity as he is only a back-up for the first team attackers. And now Mourinho is looking to a much younger Talisca to fill his shoes. The Brazilian midfielder from Benfica is a good finisher and finds the net easily. He is capable of scoring goals from a long distance and is also good at setting up his teammates.

His strength makes him a perfect fit for the English league. He has the potential of turning into a first team star in a few years. Mata will have to prove himself by playing consistently if he hopes to start the next season, so it is better for both sides if Talisca replaces him in this position.

Besiktas wants Mata in exchange for Talisca and United are not reluctant to let him go. But will the Spaniard be content with a move to Turkey.

Talisca coming up to Old Trafford will put an end to Mata’s career with the United.
