Tottenham Hotspur are favourites to win three points at the White Hart Lane when they welcome the visit of Watford FC on Saturday afternoon in Match-week 32 of the Premier League.

The Lilywhites, who sit confidently seven points behind league leaders Chelsea, have won all five of their previous EPL matches, with their latest victory coming against Swansea City during the midweek round of games. Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping to keep the pressure at bay on Chelsea a win over the Hornets. The last time the two rivals clashed, the North London club came out on top with a 4-1 win and a similar performance could be expected on Saturday.

Team News:

As far as the Spurs squad news is concerned, there are some few good news for the fans. Mauricio Pochettino had earlier claimed this week that Victory Wanyama is fit to face Watford on Sunday. Apart from that, the Argentine boss side will be without the services of star striker Harry Kane, left-back Danny Rose and young midfielder Harry Winks. It remains to be seen if Captain Hugo Lloris’ involvement as well, after the French No. 1 missed Spurs clash game due to illness.

Here is how Tottenham could take the field on Saturday:

Probable Tottenham Playing XI

Most-likely Formation: 3-4-2-1

Manager: Mauricio Pochettino

Michel Vorm (GK):

The Dutch international started the game for Tottenham against his former side during midweek and with French goalkeeper availability still unconfirmed, the task of being between the sticks could fall on the Dutchman.

Eric Dier (CB):

Eric Dier started in his best midfield position against Swansea, but Kenyan international Victor Wanyama in line for a return, he could be thrown back into the three-man defence.

Toby Alderweireld (CB):

He is a solid star at the back for the Citizens and when fit, The Belgian international is an undoubted selection in Spurs starting XI.

Jan Vertonghen (CB):

Taking the final spot in a three-man backline will be Alderweireld’s compatriot Jan Vertonghen. The 29-year-old is another name who is a shoo-in into the Spurs line-up when available.

Kyle Walker (RM):

On their right, more brilliant will continue to be seen as long as Kyle Walker is in-charge. He is one of the best full-backs in the league, Walker is one of the main attacking outlets for the Spurs and a sure starter.

Victor Wanyama (CM):

In the middle flank, we expect to see Victor Wanyama back to the starting XI. The midfield maestro was missed in their game against Swansea due to a back problem, but reports are claiming he is fit again and should be slot in back to the team.

Mousa Dembele (CM):

And alongside Wanyama, Mousa Dembele will be his usual partner in crime. The former Newcaslte Unitted is having his best season in Tottenham colours and has nailed a spot as Spurs’ consistent performer.

Ben Davies (LM):

With Danny Rose return date yet unknown, Ben Davis will continue playing as an alternative on the left-flank. The Welsman has showed some incredible performances in recent weeks but needs to do so on a consistent basis.

Christian Eriksen (CAM):

He is of the best creative midfielders in the game and will be in high spirits after a brilliant display against Swansea. Eriksen will start the game in a more central role for Tottenham.

Dele Alli (CAM):

Here is another huge contributor in Spurs late win over the Swans, the England international has been in brilliant form since the start of the season. Alli will play alongside Eriksen in this 3-4-2-1 setup for Mauricio Pochettino.

Vincent Janssen (ST):

On the issue of leading the line, the duty will be that of 22-year-old Vincent Janssen. The Dutch international has been bright in the last two games for Pochettino’s side and made a brilliant impact against Swansea coming on from the bench. A depleted Watford defence could prove to the perfect opportunity to get some goal under his belt.
