Pep Guardiola will  be out to add more depth to Manchester City squad for next season. Six City player’s contract is set to expire soon and their future remains a mystery.

Here we bring you players that might be leaving the Etihad.

Willy Caballero

Caballero provided back-up for Joe Hart for his first two seasons at Man City, appearing in just six Premier League games. Claudio Bravo’s loss of form has worked in the former Malaga shot-stopper’s favor, getting more playing time of 20 appearances across all competitions.

The Citizens will likely be bringing in a new goal-keeper in the summer. Hart might not be returning to the Etihad and  Bravo lost his confidence. Although Caballero has been exceptional this season, at 35, he has little of his playing career left, but he could be held on to for another season to provide cover.

Gael Clichy

Gael Glichy has served City well for six seasons since his arrival from Arsenal. The Club’s most consistent left-back having appeared 30 times this season, 19 in the Premier League, he is yet to come to his full potential under Guardiola.

Fullback have been an area where the Citizens have struggled for stability. Having worked with amazing talents like Dani Alves and Philipp Lahm, the Spanish manager have a high expectation of players in that position. There would be new intake this summer but City may decide to tie him to a short-term contract.

Pablo Zabaleta

Zabaleta came to prominence in his ninth season with City. Reputed to be the best right-back in English football, he was instrumental in two title win and after a superb season, he was voted 2012–13 Manchester City Player of the Year.

The 32-year old has been afforded little playing time under Guardiola. Despite his exceptional defensive skill, he’s been part of the starting XI for just ten league fixtures. Although he’s a force to reckon with on the pitch, Guardiola’s attacking style is cramping his skill. Zabaleta’s time with Manchester City might be drawing to a close.

Bacary Sagna

Since he moved to Etihad in 2014, Bacary Sagna has failed to live up to expectations. His poor performance has seen him lose his place in City’s first team.

Guardiola is now looking towards younger players as his recent signings of John Stones, Leroy Sane, and Gabriel Jesus are in their early twenties. At 34, Sagna’s playing career is coming to a closure and could be on his way out this summer.

Yaya Toure

Toure, a true City legend, made a total of 289 appearances throughout his seven years at the club, finding the net 81 times. His run held the team together and helped secure two league titles and an FA Cup.

Over time, he became less important in the club and now out of the first team. He’s only made 19 starts across all competition this season. Guardiola doesn’t seem to think he can be a part of the club’s move up the ladder and could be saying his goodbyes this summer.

Jesus Navas

Jesus Navas transferred to Etihad from Sevilla but has been a good example of bad investment. He has all it takes to make a name for himself in the club but his inconsistency is a big hindrance. Not finding the net in 9 Premier League starts attest to his inefficiency and he is likely to continue in the same pattern. The Spanish winger may leave this summer as Guardiola demands more from players.
