Without the service of Danny Ward between the sticks, Liverpool have had misfortune in the goalkeeping department this season. Jurgen Klopp’s first-choice keeper Simon Mignolet under-performed at the beginning of the season, making several high-profile mistakes before he was dropped in favor of Loris Karius.
The German goalkeeper was no better than the former. After series of sub-par performances, he was dropped from the starting eleven and Mignolet regained his position. The Belgian has buckled up a bit but he still has a long way off.

The Terriers are on top of their game this season, causing damage in the Championship. They now sit in the third position just 7 points behind the leaders and they could earn a spot in the Premier League for the first time in club’s history.
The 23-year-old is an integral part of the Terriers new found success this season. He is responsible for the accord in the Huddersfield back-line, locking up their defense.
Ward has shown consistency in his 35 Championship appearance this season. His self-assurance on the pitch has seen concede just an average of 1.17 goals and 1.86 saves per game. His shot stopping skills have earned the Terriers 1.86 points per game this term.
The Welshman has impressed with 8 clean sheets thus far this season. His consistency and confidence is what Liverpool are in dire need of.
According to reports in the early days of the month, Klopp was said to want to examine his three shot-stoppers at the end of this campaign and decide who to hand the number one shirt to.
Considering Ward statistics, it would come as no surprise if he displaces both Mignolet and Karius in the next campaign. Ward is presently his time with Huddersfield in the Championship and would be hoping they have a strong finish so he would not fall short if Klopp deems him fit next season.
