Spurs Signing Of Marcelo Brozovic Will Bring The Best Out Of Harry Winks

Tottenham Hotspur’s Mauricio Pochettino have a bright chance of qualifying for the Champions League next season. The Spurs now sits second 10 points below league leaders Chelsea. The Argentine boss will know that he will have to spend big this summer to help his side compete with the best next season and this has seen him linked with few top players recently. One such name that keep ringing bell over a possible move to Tottenham is Inter Milan’s midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.

The Croatian international has been Inter’s backbone this season, making 21 appearances in the domestic clicks and netting 5 goals and registering 4 assists so far this season. However, Brozovic has 4 years left on his contract, the north London club are reportedly close to completing the move for him this summer. The 24-year-old would bring a lot to Pochettino’s side but that will make life difficult for a certain Harry Winks.

The 21-year-old England international is a product of the Academy at the White Hart Lane and has made some brilliant performances under the Argentine this season. His previous outing was in a match winning cause in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup, it looked as though Winks was ready to take the next step. Moussa Dembele and Victor Wanyama have taken over Spurs midfield in the first team this season but the English youngster has amassed 31 appearances to his name in all competitions this campaign.

Though, Winks has registered just only 11 starts this season for Tottenham, he was expected to be an integral to the plans for his side next season. However, reports making the rounds that Tottenham’s interest in Marcelo Brozovic could further affect Winks chances in the first team. A central midfielder by nature, the Croatian can also be utilized in advanced role or also on the wing but it is best to use him extensively for his midfield abilities.

Victor Wanyama has been solid this season and will likely be reserved as Pochettino first choice next season. As well, there is a little reason why the boss would consider replacing Dembele next season from the first team. This will mean that the Inter midfielder will also have to prove himself to get into the first team at the club.

Brozovic will bring some metal and depth to Pochettino’s squad but the move for him would only make sense if Winks gets the chance to prove himself for Tottenham. The Argentine tactician has got an exciting talent in his ranks and there is little need for him to consider other avenues if they are to compete in all four competitions next season.

Signing Brozovic, they will get all help they can get as he is a top quality player and would be a worthy addition to their squad at White Hart Lane. Brozovic’s versatility would help Tottenham next season against harsh rivals next season and if he can nailed a place in the first team, then competition for places will also improve the overall performance of the squad.

At age 21, Harry Winks has much time ahead to him to prove his worth at the highest level and Tottenham would be the perfect club for him to showcase the best of his potential.

In your opinion, do you think signing Marcelo Brozovic will affect Harry Winks game time next season?
