Real Madrid might not be able to retain Toni Kroos if they fail to pick up trophy this campaign if reports in Spain are anything to go by.

The Midfielder is supposedly at peace at the Bernabue presently, but going by reports by Spanish news outlet Diario Gol, Kroos could decide he is ready to move on from the club if they fail to achieve at least one trophy this season.

Word on the grapevine has it that Kroos have caught the eye of United boss Jose Mourinho, who has been a known admirer of the 27-year-old’s skills despite that they’ve not had a working relationship.

Real started the season on a good note, leading the La Liga, but a drop in performance saw them one-points behind Barcelona who are the current League Leaders.

Los Blancos were chased out of the Copa del Rey by Celta Vigo at the quarter-final but they still manage to keep their head above water in the Champions League after their 3-1 first leg victory over Napoli in their last round of 16 game.

Kroos is contracted till 2022, and this would give Zinedine Zidane the opportunity to request for a huge sum for his service if any club decides to lure him away. Time will tell if Kroos would leave Bernabue if they fail to win any Silverware

Former United coach David Moyes tried to sign the former Bayern Munich star back in 2014 but the move fell through and the same thing allegedly happened during Louis Van Gaal’s time as the United Manager.

Kroos won his first trophy at Real Madrid in the 2014 UEFA Super Cup and was also part of the team that won the 2015–16 Champions League but he will look to become a League winner before the end of his career.
