Man United manager Jose Mourinho has claimed that he only wants to sign three players in the summer and has been linked with a host of them, including Barcelona star Neymar.

Mourinho, who lifted his first trophy as United boss after his side’s 3-2 triumph over Southampton in the EFL final on Sunday, has included his former player Cesc Fabregas on the list of his targets.

The pair worked together at Chelsea, and as per The Telegraph, the Portuguese boss is interested in working with him again and plan to bring him to Old Trafford in the summer.

The Spanish midfielder has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge with Nemanja Matic preferred ahead of him since the arrival of Antonio Conte. He has started only six Premier League games this season and Mourinho is closely watching his situations with the hope of making a move for him.

However, the Red Devils will face competition from Italian club AC Milan who are also interested in his services and are prepared to submit an offer of £27 million for the midfielder- the same amount Chelsea signed from Barcelona three years ago.

Despite being limited to just 639 minutes of league football this season, Fabregas has an impressive return of three goals and seven assists.

Fabregas, after the win over Swansea on Saturday, had reiterated his desire to stay at Chelsea beyond this season but this is football where almost nothing is impossible, a switch of clubs in the summer is not totally out of it.

And if he is to remain in the Premier League, only United’s failure to qualify for the Champions League next season may prevent him from re-uniting with Mourinho at Old Trafford.
