Ismael Bennacer would be going back home disappointed after Algeria was knocked out of the Africa Cup of Nation after they failed to win any of their three matches, but his club manager Arsene Wenger is ready to receive him back believing he has a promising future ahead of him.

The 19-year-old midfielder was called to the Algeria national team for the tournament at the last minute following encountered by Saphir Taider. He is sure to have gained more experienced even though he did not not get to play as for his national side before they were knocked out in the group stage.

The Gunners boss has a high opinion of Bennacer and says he has all he needs to make a name for himself in the game.

“He’s a player who is not spectacular, but a very efficient player,” the manager told Arsenal Player. “He’s the kind of player who, once you put him in the team, you don’t take him out anymore.

“He can defend very well, he’s a fighter, a left-footed player and very efficient going forward. He’s a real box-to-box player.

“He can do all kinds of jobs. He is still young, still lacks a little bit of experience, but is a very promising player.”

In the African Cup of Nations, Arsenal also have Mohammed Elneny out of the team for international duty.
