Man United have put their poor start to the season behind them and their win over Hull City in the first leg of the EFL semi-final have extended their unbeaten run to nine games in all competitions and will be hoping to make it double figures on Sunday when they take on Liverpool in the Premier League.

Jose Mourinho’s United are grinding out results against all and are gradually becoming the type of United squad we are all used to. Despite that United still need reinforcement in the midfield especially the defensive part of the midfield.

An exodus of players is expected over the next two transfer windows as Mourinho plans another overhaul with Morgan Schneiderlin leaving for Everton this January and Michael Carrick ageing, Mourinho need to sign a long-term defensive midfield option.

Carrick will be 36 in July and he has been instrumental to United run of fine form recently. Mourinho ‘s men has won almost every match the English man has featured in, though he may be offered one year contract extension, he won’t be around for long.

Monaco’s Tiemoue Bakayoko, who has been linked with several Premier League clubs, could be the right option for United.

The Frenchman has been one of Monaco’s best players this season, and has been the key man in their midfield.

The 22-year-old is highly-rated and has caught the attention of Chelsea and Manchester City who are both monitoring him ahead of a potential move in January.

With Ander Herrera also improving every game, Mourinho could sign Bakayoko as the perfect partner for the Spaniard, both for this season and in the long run.
