Man United claimed only their first home win in the Premier League after drawing their last four home league games which had made it their worst start to a season since 1990.

They have always failed to replicate their European form in the League but was able to record a narow win over rival Tottenham on Sunday as the Lilywhites conceded their second defeat of the season.

Both team went into the game on the back of wins in their respective European matches but Henrikh Mkhitaryan first goal in the Premier League separated the two sides, as he became the first Armenian to score in the League.

The Armenian international latched onto Ander Herrera pass to score the only goal of the game after the Spaniard had dispossessed Harry Kane in the middle of the pack.

United had dominated their last four games but have always had to share the spoil by failing to kill of the games but were able to protect their three points as they keep their top four finish hopes alive.

But the win came at a cost for United and Jose Mourinho. Mkhitaryan was stretchered off in the dying moments of the match following a tackle on his ankle by Tottenham’s Danny Rose

The former Borussia Dortmund player has been instrumental to United resurgence since his inclusion in the first team, raising more debates over why Mourinho has been keeping him on the bench.

Mkhitaryan has scored two goals and assisted two in four starts for United. Mourinho can only hope he wont spend much time on the sidelines.
