Antonio Conte looks settled in England and seems to understand the rudiment Premier League as if he has been there before. While his counterpart at Manchester City Pep Guardiola, who is equally new in England is not finding the league intriguing at the moment by virtue of its physicality and demand Conte is getting results.
Not even Jose Mourinho has been able to produce the same outcomes at Manchester United. Anyways, one can argue that Chelsea are not participating in any European completion this season after finishing in the 10th position last season and that may be used as an excuse.
Losing successive matches against title rivals Liverpool and Arsenal in September almost put his job on the line but the Chelsea manager has since put that nightmare behind him, saw it as one of those temporary setbacks that are probably inevitable and has been able to guide the club to a run of five successive wins.
Their recent impressive form coincided with Conte’s decision to switch to a 3-4-3 formation after the 0-3 loss to Arsenal. With the formation the Blues has scored 16 goals in their last five league matches and has kept a clean sheet in each. Those wins included an impressive 3-0 win over defending champion Leicester City, 4-0 thrashing of Man United and 5-0 demolition of Everton last weekend.
This latest development has brought comparisons between the Italian and Mourinho first spell at Stamford Bridge where he won the Premier League twice and other domestic cups.
Not only that the former Juventus and Italy coach has also helped Eden Hazard and Diego Costa to rediscover their form. The pair has form a formidable striking partnership and has scored 16 goals between them.
Now second on the league table with 25 points, if the momentum continues like this or even higher, Chelsea will seemingly be unstoppable. The 46-year-old won the Scudetto thrice during his stay at Juventus and a repeat is not impossible at Chelsea.
