The new Premier League season has begun, and now everyone is wondering who the next English Champions will be. Manchester City and Liverpool look like the clear favorites but Tottenham could also be a good contender for the Premier League title.

Manchester City

Premier League 2019/20 Predictions: Who will win the EPL title?

Pep Guardiola has established one of the best teams in Europe. The club hierarchy supported him even after the team struggled during the Spaniard’s first season, and now they are reaping the benefits for being patient.

They set a record-breaking pace in the 2017-18 Premier League season and collected 100 points by the end. Last season, they collected the second-most points in the history of the Premier League and claimed the league title despite suffering a wobble in the middle. Can they do it the third time just like Manchester United did in the year 2008?

Manchester City has a lethal striker in the form of Sergio Aguero, their midfield is world-class while their defense also looks impressive. Considering all this, it not only looks possible outcome but rather a probable one.

Additionally, they have made some smart signings by bringing Rodri from Atletico Madrid and João Cancelo from Juventus. They haven’t found a replacement for Vincent Kompany yet, who joined Anderlecht as player-manager at the end of last season. However, that doesn’t look like a big issue for City because they have strong players at almost all the other positions.

Liverpool

Premier League 2019/20 Predictions: Who will win the EPL title?

Liverpool came extremely close to winning the Premier League title but then lost it to Manchester City in the end. Although they got a big consolation of winning the Champions League trophy after they defeated Tottenham Hotspur in the final.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will once more try to mount a title challenge this season. They have a formidable squad that is quite capable of achieving anything in the world. Their defense looks impeccable with Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker in the team while their iconic front-trio is a source of terror for all the other Premier League teams.
They didn’t spend a lot of money in this transfer window, because they splashed a huge amount in the previous one. Although they will have to be at their very best to be the Champions of English Soccer.

Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur was phenomenal last season. They ended the European dreams of Manchester City, came back from a position of clear defeat against Ajax and then competed well against Liverpool in the final. Pochettino’s side also secured Champions League football, with Arsenal and Manchester United finishing outside the Top Four.

They achieved all this despite the many distractions they faced during their last campaign. Many of Spurs’ players didn’t get much rest because of the 2018 World Cup, so they were not fresh when the season started. While their new stadium move was being delayed again and again until it finally happened in April.

Spurs won’t face any such distractions this year, and also they have signed some very good players this summer. After a stagnate few summers, they have finally landed a big player in the form of Tanguy Ndombele. They splashed a club record £65 million to bring Ndombele from Lyon. While they parted with another £25 million for Ryan Sessegnon who scored 2 goals and 6 assists in his last campaign for Fulham.

Spurs already have world-class players in the form of Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen who are capable of changing a game within minutes. And with these new summer arrivals, we can expect that they will challenge Manchester City and Liverpool for the Premier League title.
