The Foxes go into this encounter without a permanent manager after parting ways with Claude Puel on Sunday. The Frenchman was sacked due to uninspiring run of results which saw them dropped to 12th position in the League standings.
Meanwhile, first-team manager Mike Stowell is set to guide the team later today as the hierarchies currently search for Puel’s replacement.
The Foxes are without a win since their 1-0 victory over Everton in January and they were surprisingly beaten by Championship side Newport County; struggling Premier League sides Cardiff, Crystal Palace and Southampton prior to Puel’s dismissal.
The host will hope to begin post Puel era on winning note and Stowell will hope he gets the job on permanent basis just like Craig Shakespeare who became permanent manager after replacing Claudio Ranieri on short-term deal.
Brighton haven’t fared any better either. The Seagulls are currently passing through hard time and they have played seven league games without a win.
The unwanted run of results have seen them dropped to 16th position, three points away from relegation zone. Chris Hughton’s team are yet to record any victory since the turn of the year while they’ve conceded 52 goals so far this season.
However, the Amex outfits maintained impressive run in the FA Cup competition having made it through to the quarter-final round. They defeated Frank Lampard’s Derby County two weeks ago to reach the final eight of the world’s oldest football competition.
