Barcelona has begun preparation for their future having confirmed the signing of Ajax midfielder Frenkie De Jong. The youngster will arrive Camp Nou this summer.
According to Barcelona’s official website, the singing of De Jong cost a basic €75m and including possible add-ons worth €11m. De Jong will be joining the defending La Liga Champions on a five-year contract deal.
The player will become one of the highest paid central-midfielders in world football as soon as he joins Barcelona, as according to The Express via Sport-English, it claimed De Jong will earn around €10m per season.
The ace is entitled to earn an additional €6m as a bonus based on the silverware that Barca win and the appearances made by the Dutchman.
Looking at how De Jong’s wage will be compared to most of the best midfielders in the world, the expectation that the Dutchman would arrive in Blaugrana and hit the ground with brilliant performances is certain.
Barca has held-on to their rich tradition of signing some of the brilliant Dutch talents has this signing of the 21-year-old follows in the footsteps of the great Johan Cruyff as well as joining Dutch football stars with the likes of Patrick Kluivert, Ronaldo Koeman and Frank De Boer.
Once the youngster arrives in the summer, he will join his fellow countryman Jasper Cillessen who is Netherland No.1 and as well as former Ajax star.
