According to The S*n, Juventus could agree a surprise deal for Arsenal’s departing midfielder Jack Wilshere. The English international recently announced he will be leaving the club after 17 years this summer and has a host of clubs keen to procure his signature. Juve recently signed Liverpool’s Emre Can and surprisingly want the injury-prone playmaker to follow him.
The Old Lady have an ageing midfield, with Blaise Matuidi, Sami Khedira and Claudio Marchisio all 31 and above, so fresh blood in on the agenda this summer. And if the Serie A champions can sign talented midfielders who are out of contract, they’ve killed two birds with one stone. Can is their latest acquisition and could be a bargain on a free transfer. Wilshere is potentially another.
The Arsenal playmaker, who rose through the youth ranks to the first-team in 2008, has gone on to make 198 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners. Wilshere has won two FA Cups with his boyhood club but will now be moving on from the Emirates in the coming weeks as his contract is up at the end of the month.
Juventus aren’t the only side keen on signing him, however, with Wolverhampton Wanderers, Crystal Palace and West Ham United among the interested clubs. Wilshere has a lot to weigh up this summer.
