According to the Daily Mail, Celtic could lose Charly Musonda at the end of the campaign as Chelsea are furious with the Hoops over his lack of playing time this season. The 21-year-old joined Celtic on an 18-month loan deal but may have the move cut short as he’s hardly featured under Brendan Rodgers.

Musonda has racked just eight appearances in all competitions since joining in January which has incensed Chelsea and could have negative repercussions for manager Brendan Rodgers who was previously a scout and coach at Stamford Bridge.

The Belgian u21 international was signed by Chelsea from Anderlecht in 2012 but has only managed seven appearances for the Blues which led to him being loaned out to get more competitive game time. Musonda joined Spanish side Real Betis in 2016 for 12 months and would move to Scotland six months after returning.

However, the 21-year-old has spent the majority of the campaign out of the matchday squad or as an unused substitute. He made a four-minute cameo against Hamilton on April 8, which was his first league appearance for Celtic since February.

Rodgers did recently admit Musonda had struggled with the move and would be a better player for Celtic next season, but he now may not get the chance the manage him in 2018/19.
