CSKA Moscow welcome Arsenal to the VEB Arena for their Europa League meeting on Thursday night.

The Russian side lost 4-1 at the Emirates during in first leg of the quarter-final clash and Viktor Goncharenko’s side need a minor miracle to overcome the deficit.

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey opened the scoring in the ninth minute but the Krasno-sinie equalised from Aleksandr Golovin.

The Gunners regained their lead with another Ramsey goal and  Alexandre Lacazette brace to put one foot into the semi-finals.

Players to watch:

Aaron Ramsey – Arsenal:

Arsenal fans are undecided over Ramsey. He’s accused of losing possession all too often but has more pros than he does cons.

The Welsh international always finds the net for Arsenal in crunch times, and his volley against CSKA in the first-leg is a Europa League goal of the season contender.

Ramsey has scored three goals in three games in Europe for Arsenal, so the Russians will have to keep on eye on him at the VEB Arena.

Aleksandr Golovin – CSKA Moscow:

The Russian international was CSKA’s lone shining star in last week’s defeat.

Golovin is capable of playing in the frontline or in central midfield and showcased some of his ability against Arsenal.

The 21-year-old helped his side grab an important away goal through a sublime free-kick to make David Beckham proud and he’ll be key for the hosts getting a result in the second leg.

Football Weeks’ prediction: CSKA Moscow 2-1 Arsenal
