Former Rangers and Australia defender Craig Moore believes Celtic attacking-midfielder Tom Rogic could exit Parkhead for a ‘big-money- move if he can maintain his fine form for the remainder of the season, reports The S*n.
The 25-year-old joined Celtic from Melbourne in 2013 and has gone on to make 128 appearances in all competitions, scoring and creating 50 goals.
Rogic, who has scored seven goals in 31 games for the Australian national team, has been in fine form for the Hoops this season with eight goals contributed in 17 league games.
He missed 11 league outings between early-December and mid-February with a knee injury but has scored twice in his last four games since his return.
Reports have hinted he’s using this summer’s World Cup as a platform to put himself in the shop window, and Moore is tipping Rogic for a big move if he continues his impressive performances.
He said:
“Tom Rogic is a very gifted player and comes from a footballing background which was different to the preferred curriculum. I actually think this has made him technically a better player, but his challenge is playing week in week out and completing games regularly.
“If he can do that and be a consistent performer or in the top two or three every week then Celtic will eventually sell him as the interest would be there. Rogic can kick for big money. I have no doubt. He is probably still chasing the best form for that to happen and really get people excited though.”
Rogic’s return from injury saw him score in the Hoops’ 3-2 win over Rangers on March 11 and against Ross County in a 3-0 victory on Saturday. His Celtic side are currently top of the Scottish Premiership table, 10 points clear of second-placed Aberdeen after 32 games.
