Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino hopes to complete three deals to strengthen his side in the summer.
According to The Sun, the Londoners have opened contract talks with Moussa Dembele and are interested in Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Amadou Haidara and Swansea City defender Alfie Mawson.
Dembele joined Spurs from Fulham back in August 2012 and has gone to make 230 appearances in all competitions. The Belgian international has become an integral part of Tottenham’s rise under Pochettino which is why the club are keen to extend his contract.
However, the report states that Dembele won’t accept a deal unless he gets in excess of £100,000, which would bring his salary close to the club highest-earner, Harry Kane.
Tottenham could be making two more additions to the wage bill if Pochettino gets his way too.
Mali international Haidara is a target, although supporters may question whether he is needed at the club given Josh Onomah is a promising talent and has been developing with Championship promotion-chasers Aston Villa.
Furthermore, the Salzburg midfielder could be on his way to RB Leipzig as a replacement for Naby Keita who’s joining Liverpool this summer, which would leave chairman Daniel Levy with a battle on his hands to stop him heading to Germany.
Tottenham are also considering Swansea City’s Alfie Mawson as a defensive options, perhaps due to the future of Toby Alderweireld being uncertain.
The 24-year-old has been recently called up to the England squad for upcoming friendlies against the Netherlands and Italy. He could be at the World Cup this summer so Tottenham might want to act fast before other clubs get in their way.
