Manchester United host Liverpool in Saturday’s eagerly-anticipated Premier League game at the Old Trafford.

The Red Devils secured a dramatic 3-2 comeback win against Crystal Palace on Monday night, and this preserved their two-point lead over Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side, who are presently third in the Premier League standings. As a result, this weekend game has more importance than in previous times with the winner potentially strengthening the chance of finishing in the runner-up spot for the campaign.

Players to watch for:

Romelu Lukaku – Manchester United:

Lukaku has improved on his performances against top sides as the season progresses. He had recently be subject to critics for his poor record against any of the top-six, but the Belgium international managed to answer a few critics with his superb man-of-the-match performance versus Chelsea – his former side – which included a goal and an assists. Since then, the 24-year-old – nearing 25 – has found the score-sheet during his side’s 3-2 triumph over Palace, and he comes into the game with huge expectations of the fans. The Belgian was guilty for missing a clear-cut chance during the goalless draw at Anfield earlier this season, and he has the perfect chance to make amends with another top showing upfront.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – Liverpool:

While praises has been lavished on Mohamed Salah, former Arsenal man Oxlane-Chamberlain has been one of Liverpool’s unsung heroes this season. Under the tutelage of Jurgen Klopp, Ox has transformed into a superb central midfielder, capable of creating key passes. He has grabbed an assist in each of his previous two Premier League appearances for Liverpool, and the latter was against stubborn Newcastle United, where he set up Salah’s goal. With the Merseyside’s attacking style of play, United defense may need to keep a close eye on the Englishman who will play behind the Salah.

Football Weeks’ Prediction:

Manchester United and Liverpool have played out draws in the pair last four outings, and knowing by Jose Mourinho’s big-game tactics, the Portuguese gaffer would surely want to avoid a home defeat.
