Both Stuart Armstrong and Leigh Griffiths have missed most of the club’s 2018 fixtures due to one injury and other, and there quality has been sorely missed around the Celtic squad.

Photos emerged from the club official Twitter account on Friday showing Leigh Griffiths, Stuart Armstrong, and Dedryk Boyata looking resuming training ahead of the upcoming fixtures.

Griffiths, who has been sidelined with a long-tern calf problem, has been seeing a specialist to determine the extent of the damage. Having taken part in some of the team training on Friday, the signs are looking promising.

Armstrong on the other hand, has been recovering from a hernia operation he underwent over a month ago, and he is expected to make a full return to fitness after the international break. And it’s thought to be a similar one for Boyata, who suffered a groin injury a couple of weeks ago.

Celtic have missed Griffiths and his goal contributions to the club since he has been sidelined, with Mousssa Dembele misfiring so far this season.

Despite lengthy spells on the sidelines Griffiths remains the clubs third top scorer with 12 goals, two more than his strike colleague Dembele. If Griffiths and Armstrong can get back fit before the end of the season, the latter could provide at the very least be used as an impact player off the bench while Armstrong would be a perfect sub for Tom Rogic.
