Celfic fans aren’t feeling so happy with the club now after a couple of league losses blemish Brendan Rodgers’ otherwise fantastic record on Scottish soil and many believe the team needs serious strengthening if they are going to be marked as serious contenders in European competition.

With a massive Europa League clash against Zenit on Thursday, not many of Celtic supporters fancy their chances of progressing. So, they’re eager to see Rodgers continue to develop his playing talent in the summer, believing next season to be a better chance to battle on the continental front.

In order to do that, there’s no doubt that Celtic need to consider a new option between the sticks. Craig Gordon’s recent injury showed the severe lack of options in that area and the club are reportedly set to review that department in the summer. With that in mind, the SPFL champions could achieve a lot more by making a move for a former Parkhead favourite.

England international and Southampton goalie Fraser Forster isn’t having the best time of his career at Southampton. The former Celtic goalkeeper has been down the pecking order under Mauricio Pellegrino in favour of Alex McCarthy after a series of mistakes and could certainly do with a move to Celtic Park to kickstart his career.

Forster, who is rated at £13.5m by Transfermarkt, was superb option for Celtic between the sticks following his move from Newcastle United and perhaps a season-loan move back to Glasgow will help him. Seemingly lacking confidence at goal, Forster could force his way back into genuine England squad next season if he performs well for Celtic, who could certainly do with the help between their posts.
