Celtic’s Europa League prospects could be handed a massive boost with three top team regulars in the running to be fit to face Zenit St Petersburg next Thursday.
According to a report from The Sun, Tom Rogic, Patrick Roberts and Stuart Armstrong are all nearing fitness to face Zenit St Petersburg.
How close the trio would be to march fitness is another matter but with trips to Pittodrie and Ibrox on cards over the next five weeks, Brendan Rodgers could do with as strong a squad as possible to select from.
Roberts has been the one out of action for the longest as a result of hamstring injury ending after 11 minutes away to Motherwell on November 29.
Rogic last made an appearance when he was a half-time substitute against Anderlecht a week later while Armstrong played in the 0-0 draw against Sveco on December 30.
Celtic’s defence seems to be the area of concern and Rodgers’ expected to give an update later today on the injuries suffered by Dedryck Boyata and Kris Ajer at Kilmarnock.
