Celtic and Rangers are a number of English top sides are in hot pursuit of non-league striker sensation Reise Allassani, according to Football Insider.

The football news tabloid claim that the Glasgow giants are in the hunt alongside Championship site Norwich City, Reading and Barnsley and League One side Gillingham to sign the former Crystal Palace youngster, who has been making rounds for Bostik League Premier Division side Dulwich Hamlet.

Football Insider report that Celtic and Rangers see him as someone with huge potential and they are preparing moves to try and lure the forward north of the border.

It is reported that Allassani was close to joining Sheffied Wednesday following his release in 2016 only for a serious knee injury to stop the deal, but the striker has got his career back on tract at Dulwich Hamlet.

Dulwich Hamlet have received a number of enquiries for his suitors this month and they are unlikely to stand in his way to make the move back into a higher league.

With 17 goals in 16 matches this season, the ex-Under 17 England international has revived his career in non league football and is now on the verge of a move back into the big time that once seemed a certainty for him when he was Palace’s radar. Allassani lost his way for some time, but the striker has caught the eye of interested sides from major clubs with his gift for putting the ball in the back of the net this season.

If it comes to a straight financial battle, Rangers can’t live with Celtic, but they can offer a pathway into the first team that Brendan Rodgers’ side are currently unable to, with Moussa Dembele, Leigh Griffiths and Odsonne Edouard currently competing for a starting role. At Ibrox, there is far less competition, which gives them an advantage of winning the race for the goal machine’s signature this month.
