Everton fans took to Twitter to slam their starting back four prior to their Premier League clash with West Ham United on Wednesday night.

The Merseyside welcome the Hammers to Goodison Park in David Unsworth’s last game in charge as caretaker, with the Toffees confirming earlier yesterday that Sam Allardyce is finalising a deal to become their next manager.

Everton have been on a horrific run of form prior to their 4-0 thrashing of West Ham United at Goodison Park, having won just once under Unsworth across seven matches, and were beaten 4-1 by Southampton last time out.

Everton sacked Ronald Koeman and had been searching for his replacement for over five weeks, with the hunt now over after Allardyce’s imminent appointment.

Both Unsworth and Allardyce will be hoping for a big result from their players as they look to impress their new manager and begin a run that gets Everton out of relegation danger.

Their opponents, The Hammers, are also struggling in the league this season, with David Moyes returning to Goodison Park as Hammers manager for the first time but luck wasn’t on his side as he welcome with a 4-1 mauling.

The Hammers are yet to win under the Scot, who replaced Slaven Bilic as manager, with two loss and a draw from their three results so far with ex-Sunderland boss in-charge.

Unsworth selected a back four in defence comprising of Ashley Williams, Cuco Martina, Jonjoe Kenny, and Mason Holgate, and the Toffees faithfuls are far from pleased about the selections, and it is William – who eventually scored the fourth goal – and Martina who fingers were pointed at most from the fans.
