According to the Times, Manchester United are preparing to table a £40million bid to Tottenham Hotspur for the services of Danny Rose in the January window.
The British tabloid claim that Jose Mourinho‘s side intend to test Spurs resolves with a huge offer for the left-back, whose future is under the microscope after a series of events of expressing his frustration at White Hart Lane.
The Times report that the England international has made up his mind to commit himself to the North London club until the end of the season and will not attempt to force an exit before that point.
He was left out of the North London derby against Arsenal last week on fitness grounds and responded by saying he was “fuming and angry” at the decision of Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino.
Danny Rose exit good move for Tottenham?
Transfer speculation over Rose is not going to go away. His future at the Wembley became a massive issue the moment he publicly questioned Tottenham’s ambition with an interview last summer. Would £40m for the full-back who appears determined to leave for a bigger contract elsewhere be good business for Tottenham? Only if Tottenham can replace him with someone as good, or potentially better than the 27-year-old. Up to the point Rose suffered a serious knee injury in January, he was the best left-back in the Premier League. It is unlikely Tottenham can find someone better to replace him.
Danny Rose Manchester United likely to happen?
Be it in January or at the end of the season. Tottenham aren’t going to sell to a little rival in the middle of the season, especially when they have trophy ambitions, which include the Premier League and the Champions League knockout stages.
